Battle Royale

Different cultures, so it's going to be hard to get the characters exactly right since I assume it will be moved to America with American kiRAB?

IIRC that has been quashed now, Justin Lin (of Tokyo Drift) said that he didn't expect to be directing this (he was the intended director) but then again Universal Pictures still hold the rights for the film so who knows, Hollywood is extremly lazy ATM as are the people who can't be bothered to read subtitles at the bottom of a screen I feel, it just seems Hollywood feels it can make a quick buck out of these remakes whilst all they are doing is tarnishing the originals in my eyes.

If something has moved on since I last checked and got the ball rolling on the film I would be very, very dissapointed.

Minor? If this is their vision of Battle Royal, then they have butchered it into non-existence. I'd say it was more a remake of the Running Man meets the Truman Show, with the televising of the 'contest'. With the casting of 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin, it might as well be called WWE Smash Down.

Sorry to bring this thread up again but I randomally recorded this film on Sky+ having no idea what it actually was and thought it was fantastic. Very violent but alot of fun.

Any idea if they are going to make a re-make?
