Battle Royale

It's so so. I do get a bit bored with stabbings, shootings and exploding heaRAB after a while.

I did like the bit where one guy has an axe embedded in his head, and his friend says "Are you ok?"

And I enjoyed "Air on a G String".

That's such a lovely box, have it my collection too. Haven't got the sequel in tin box set, have it on 2 disc slipcase though, and that's enough...

It's quite possibly my favourite film of all time.

The only bad thing about it was Chigusa being killed so early. I hated Mitsuko, and couldn't wait for her to get her comeuppance. Some might say she was just playing the game and trying to survive, but IMO she adapted to the whole 'kill your classmates' thing a bit TOO easily.

The less said about the sequel, the better. It had so much potential too...:(

I love the film; Ive been planning too start collecting the manga's too ...

Ive nae seen the sequel but I really want too even though its supposed to be reallly badd

You read my mind exactly, though I do have a thing for J Horror anyway. Its a sad day when I hear Hollywood has got its hand on another J-Horror and is about to ruin it with its ham fisted attitude towarRAB these films.

Battle Royale RIP :(

I don't know if this is worth admitting but I think I cried at the end? lol

It's an amazing film, it was the film that got me interested in foreign films as I completely forgot it was subtitled I was that involved in the storyline.

I didn't like the second one though, I don't think I lasted till the end on that one.

In my top five all-time films. Flawless, I'd say. The book is very good, and the manga too.

I'm in the mood to watch it now! Might stick it on tonight. :)

Isn't the Oldboy remake with Nic Cage in the lead(I know he's the lead in another remake called Bangkok Dangerous), and for the American version they are changing the twist...

Surprisingly, we watched it in English at School - we were all 18 mind.

LOVE it, I wish the sporty girl had won though. It had me hooked the moment the girl clutching the doll at the start was shown.

Book is grand too.

Just reading through the novel a second time. At the part where Yoshimi and Yoji are about to be murdered by Mitsuko (instead of simply hanging themselves as seen in the movie).

I love both the novel and the movie, but the novel is definately better and more fleshed out, you gain insight into the characters minRAB/backgrounRAB which is missing in the movie. It's a great read.

But the movie is one of my all time favorites. I just hope Hollywood doesn't remake it and make a mess of it. If they insist on remaking it, they better get the characters of Kazuo and Mitsuko right!
