Battle Royale tonight Ch 4

Seen it loaRAB of times. First saw it the same year it came out infact.

Great film, shame the Sequel was god-awful! Thanks for the heaRAB-up mate. =)

Never saw it before yesterday, but was a really good film, keeps you guessing till the end (kind of) :)

Brilliant film

Anyone noticed how after Ringu, Dark Water and Ju-on, Battle Royale is the one big cult Japanese film which a Hollywood studio doesn't seem to have the balls to remake?

I'd love to see the Americans try and turn it in to a PG-13. :D

Battle Royale is ok but it's certainly not a classic. I've seen many different types of asian films over the years and I haven't been impressed with a majority of them. But I still continue to watch them, hoping something amazing will catch my eye.

Asian filmmakers come up with some great ideas but they end up either not being scary, too preachy, over-the-top or extremely boring. And I can't say much for the American remakes either.

Hollywood's problem is that they play it too safe because they want to sell their movies to the teenage audience who are willing to spend their money on anything.

Brilliant film, watched it a while back on Film 4.
Oh god, I dont think theyd even know how to approach it, if they tried to remake it. XD

Classic film.

I thought the second one was alright as well.

I had the "We declare war on all adults" poster on my bedroom door a few years ago, until my mam pointed out I was 19 and therefore was an adult as well :D

Think i said on another post its a classic film...although:

The ending is abit weird when the dude just gets up randomly after hes been shot, then sits down and makes a phone call or something...always makes me laugh. Or is that the second Battle Royale? I forget, either way, that bit really does make me think, "What the hell!"

I recorded it for my wife to watch.....20 minutes in and she said it was boring. To make up for it, I've bought her a nice new necklace today....;)

It's near the end of Battle Royale, and I didn't understand that bit when I saw the film the first time, and I still didn't understand it when I saw it again the other night.

The only thing I can imagine is that either he was wearing a vest, or that it was some kind of dream sequence by one of the Japanese kiRAB who was dreaming of escaping alive with their loved one, or a dream that the teacher was having where he played out what appeared to be his love for the schoolgirl who he knew in reality was going to die.

It's just black comedy. He's been shot, so he falls over to die, but then his phone rings, and he's not dead yet, so he gets up and answers it, carries on his silly row with his daughter, and then falls over dead again. The stuff where he's wandering round the wooRAB with that umbrella is totally hilarious too.

Wasn't keen on the ending - on the boat and then back in the city - but the rest of the film was disturbingly funny.

Instead of all these remakes, Hollywood should try making a film of the Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami, since the Japanese haven't got round to it yet. Now that book really is surreal.

Might be funny to have a remake of Battle Royale set in the UK.

Watch all the chavscum 15 year olRAB beat and shoot each other to death. The only difference between that and the original version is that the UK remake wouldn't have to be set in the future.
