the cell is not over 10 months old and i use the genuine nokia charger, sometime use handsfree...

If the battery is somehow defective it is probably under warrenty for a year. You might be able to get it replaced by returning it to where you got it (If you can show it is defective). If it still holds a charge for a long time don't sweat it until it gets worse. but a battery is a wearable item. Especially with constant use. They are also replaced for very little money from some places online.

How many standby hours do you get out of it? There may not be anything wrong with it.

You may have only had the phone for ten months, but how long did your carrier have it before you bought it? If you have any doubts, get a new genuine Nokia battery. Avoid knock offs, counterfeit or third party batteries. a leaky or overcharged battery can ruin your day.

I have heard nothing but bad things concerning the Nokia phones and the length of their battery's.

Has anybody actually had a Nokia that the battery lasts as long or or close to what it is suppose to?

My mother has a nokia 3595, yep its an old phone. Well the battery is finally starting to crap out after 3 or 4 years of constant use. My father bought a nokia the same day she got her phone not sure on the model but I am pretty positive it is the same battery and his battery holds a charge for days. I haven't heard a lot of talk about the batteries being crap..But thats me..

There might be a couple of reasons because a cell phone is an electronic device.

The battery might be dying out. Also most Nokia batteries may look the same, but they won't work on different phones...like if you put a battery for a 6230 into an N-Gage. It'll power up showing the white screen, but it might power back down. Or maybe the firmware on the phone is dated, so it's unstable and eating up battery life. IDK...if you want to invest time and a little $$, take it to a care center.

Buy Nokia Accessories for Your Nokia Phone
Here is a useful link that will allow Nokia users to match just about any accessory to any phone. This includes battery part numbers that are compatable with specific models.

hmm,if your bloothooth was switched on it is possible that i took some of your battery, it happened to me once ..As the battery is new i don`t see any other explanation in it ,except that there is some sort of defect ...Check the out the next couple of times after you charge it and if notice a similar trend return it to the carrier ..

Anouther thing is that if u return it it would take ages for them to find out for themselves that the battery is defect , so be prepared to spend some time waiting for the new one

If the battery meter is only going down by 1 bar that's not uncommon, remember that even if your handset is not in use it is still connected to a network which flactuates signal frequencies which in return drains battery power.

Check the phone when you plug it in to charge. It might say that it is charging, but then after a few minutes it may stop. That happened to my phone - it was the cable or the connection to the phone that was bad. I would plug it in to charge and it would start to charge, but then shut off.
