Battery Dies when it's at "100%"?

So, I've come to the conclusion that my G1 isn't showing the right battery level. It said it was fully charged but within 15 minutes of having it off the charger, it died. I tried to turn it back on, it turned on for a few seconds and showed the battery was dead then turned off. I have it on the charger now. Anyone know what could be wrong?

That happened on my N1 yesterday. It had 50% an hour later the phone was off and the battery was dead. Put it on the charger over night and in the morning still no charge. Put my extra battery in and it worked fine, in the mean time I had called HTC and they are sending a new battery out. This evening put the bad battery back in and it registered 100% and has been working fine all day. The only thing I did was reboot the phone. I don't know, but if you've had your phone very long it might just be a bad battery. There was a problem with the G1 batterys about 9 months ago and HTC exchanged mine.

If a battery shows 100%, and the battery dies when it's removed from the charger -- then what you have is a bunch of bad cells in the battery. Typically from overcharging, overheating, hot->cold temperature swings, etc.

You'll probably need a new battery.

The other option is you customized the firmware, and the charge portion is messed up.
