Batman Returns DVD

Listen to me for I shall say this only once; Batman Returns has an error on the first disk!
Buy it only if you do not care, unless join the queue of people sending it back to WB!
 
union jak: Are you sure you're not mis-reading the box? If you look at the back it say's under Special Features (on disc 2) "Commentary by director Tim Burton" now I understand this to mean that he's done a brand new interview. The new interview can be seen throughout the "making of" features on disc 2 of Batman and Batman Returns.

Nowhere on the box does it say that on disc one Tim Burton does an audio commentary throughout the film.
 
Well the Deluxe is out on R1 and only has a few extras (and i think a comic book)

I really liked Batman Forever, but only cos I used to have a thing for Kilmer.


I once dressed up as Harvey Two-Face for a Halloween party! I even had this liquid plastic stuff on one side of my face.... Damn I wish I still had the photos...
 
There is a commentary by Burton on the special edition Batman Returns DVD. It's on disc one in the Features section along with the trailer.
 
Batman BeginS Deluxe Edition is out in HMV now, it has a different box, Comic and the normal 2-disc DVD. It is 14.99 like the normal 2-disc version.
 
If that is so, it is misleading since commentary has always meant talking alongside the film.
However, it does not state which disk the commentary is on.
The other Batman DVRAB say the same thing "Commentary by Tim Burton/ Joel Schumacher", and they have audio commentary.
The websites sell it as having an audio commentary.
All the other regions have an audio commentary by Tim Burton, and only region 2 has been left out.
 
I ordered mine from CD WOW which is region 2 & 4. There's lots of strange languages to choose from so I take it my version is different to a normal region 2 version?

I have the region 1 Batman Returns and disc 1 has Audio commentary by director/co-producer Tim Burton and Theatrical trailer.

My friend has the UK region 2 one and it only has production notes as extras.
 
Just checked and mine is region 4 Australia, I've just finished listening to the audio commentary - you lot are really missing out on something special. :D
 
It's strange because I know Batman and Batman Returns like the back of my hand but there's bits in both films I'm sure are not in the UK edit.

For example: Just before Catwoman blows up the toy store (the bit where she backflips to Batman and The Penguin outside and says "meow") you see her bursting a gas pipe and putting two aerosol cans into a microwave oven and switching it on.

I don't remember that bit, is it in the UK version? :confused: I'm guessing it was edited incase little kiRAB put spray cans into microwaves. :rolleyes:
 
That's THE cause of the whole problem! It is against all BBFC rules to show someone putting aerosols in a microwave, because it can easily be imitated by anyone, with disasterous consequences.
It wouldn't only be little kiRAB who'd copy, I bet many teenagers would want to experiment, because it is so easy to do, but not many people think about it.

Because of the cut, the film doesn't sync up to the commentary, and WB won't pause the edit, so they've removed it.
 
OK people

Batman Returns SE does NOT have a commentary on, despite the sleeve copy because the BBFC cuts meant the track did not synch and WB could not be bothered to trim it.

Bought mine and took it back to ASDA for a refund

BUY R1 NOT R2 ON THIS ONE
