Batman Begins

Never been a huge Batman fan, but I enjoyed seeing the 'beginnings' of Batman.

Bale lacks the chiselled features of what most people would consider a Superhero, but he has a powerful face and pulls it off admirably.

Oldman is better menacing - I've always been a fan, menacing is his job, it's what he does best. His role as the slightly nervous cop Jim Gordon just shows what a talent he is. He neeRAB to be an anti-hero though.

Caine was just Caine, he's played the same character in every film he's ever been in. His status is now revered, and he's basically allowed carte blanche with his style.

The script was patchy - I suppose they have to cater for mainstream, but some of the one-liners could really have done with being omitted.

I didn't fall in love with Katie Holmes, so I wasn't too bothered whether she lived or died. Idealistic District Attorney, please, she should have been killed.

Biggest surprise for me was Cillian Murphy as Dr. Jonathan Crane, beautifully slimy out of the mask, and almost horrific in it - his demise, or what I could make of it
Holmes shot him in the face with a tazer, and he wobbled off screen on his horse
was a complete waste of a character.

Neeson, Roache, Hauer all did what was asked, and offered no more.

I loved the city, in some parts it smacked of Bladerunner, but it wasn't long before I was brought back to Earth with some scriptwriter's determination to add a little humour.

The Batmobile - hmmm, a hard one. I had a Batmobile as a kid, and in hinRABight, it was pretty damn cool in 1972, but this is 2005, and some fibreglass wings on an old Cadillac just weren't going to cut it. So we end up with a cross between a low level tank and an Apache gunship, it did the job, looked pretty damn good, and had some nice sound effects.

If you're a Batman fan, this will cane the other offerings, it was a pretty good attempt, and some of the script aside, I really enjoyed it.

That's odd because a little while back he was saying that the next movie would have the joker in it and also Harvey Dent who Bat's will join up with to bringthe Joker to justice, then for the third film the trial of the Joker would lead to Harvey being scarred by the acid and becoming two-face.

Well, that's what I heard anyway.

I'm not a huge fan of Burton. But at least he made *his* version of Batman. That's what all the best artists have done in the comics. They've created their own vision, and lesser creators... hack it.

Nolan's Batman took other creators visions and made a movie out of it.

Which is a pity because I really love Memento for being a refreshingly original film.

Yeah that is Batman Begins writer David Goyer out line for a plot for the sequels before Batman Begins was released. This may have changed recently since he has started talking to Christopher Nolan about their plans for the sequels!
I found a old piece of news where Christina Ricci states she wants to be Catwoman if she does feature in Batman Begins sequel "I heard they want to bring Catwoman into the next one. I so loved Michelle Pfeiffer's performance in the original one, and I think if they want someone to play the lead role - it's her. However, if they're looking for a younger Catwoman, someone more around Christian's (Bale) age - I'm available!", she gushes. "It would be great. That suit, the whip....wow. I will definitely have to get my agent onto that one". Unfortunatly I cant see Catwoman appearing in the Batman Begins sequel!

Nolan brought us what we wanted a Batman film that was true to the comics!! not a Batman film that was chaged too much to make the director happy!!!
Like Burton told how the Joker killed Waynes parents but he didnt that was just dont to make the whole film tie together
Scumaher well he just ruined them!! but one change he made was to make Batgirl a completetly different character just to make it easy to introduce he to Batman and Robin!!
Batgirl is Barbars Gordon not whats her name!!! alfreRAB neice cant rember her name she was so annoying!!

I'm sorry so many people didn't enjoy this film as much as I did.

I absolutely loved it, from start to end. It brought back some of the magic of going to the pictures when you're a kid and when you see on screen seems really real and exciting, and the bad guy seems really scary. The original Batman movie was the perfect Batman movie for when I was 12, and this was the perfect Batman movie now I'm 28. :)

I feel the same as you Grand Dizzy about Batman Begins as to me it was the perfect Batman film!
There has been some news about the sequel to Batman Begins as Warner Bros Pictures are already planning it with director Christopher Nolan returning!
The studio has hired Jonah Nolan (Christopher's brother) to write the screenplay for the untitled Batman sequel. The studio has options on Batman Begins star Christian Bale and Batman Begins co-writers David Goyer and Christopher Nolan wrote a treatment for the sequel so it could be in the cinemas by 2008!

I hope that Ras Al Ghul comes back just to see Liam Neeson again,he really rocked in Batman Begins and he really added something to the film(he does this to any film, hes just brill!!)-god that would be great him and the joker together-wow!!
