Batman Begins Sequel

No problem. :)

Thanks for the links. :)

ITV News at 10 tonight will feature a bit about TDK. Probably similar to what was on BBC news earlier, Michael Caine talking about Heath, etc. but it might be worth a look.

Agree 100% SGF, heath was very proud of the movie, and as he said before his death, it was the most fun he had ever had on a movie. Keep it in, if his family are ok with it then thats fine. As a Heath fan it will be tough to watch, but it has to stay. Roll on July 25th:D

Saw it last night and I did really enjoy it. But rather than a comic book film it was much more of an intricate crime thriller. I couldn't help thinking that Christopher Nolan really wanted to make Heat instead. I felt it sidelined Batman's story of being the tortured outsider vigalante which is surely the core of the story. Having said that I thought Heath Ledgers performance was stunning, you can see he put his whole self into creating the Joker. It left me feeling really sad that we would never see that again or any other character he would have crafted so expertly. And all the performances were completely solid and yes I wanted to clear Christain Bales throat too, that can't be good for the vocal chorRAB.

I think it neeRAB a second viewing the really appreciate it, but I might wait for the dvd to go to that dark place again.

Luckily loaRAB of fans got the preview tickets in america so all the reviews are up now.And quite a lot seems to be missing.A few reputable extras too commenting on stuff that was filmed thats not in the film, including a few action sequences showin in the trailers/tv spots.

Im still debating wether to get the Batman Begins set.No doubt theyll bring an even bigger set out once The Dark Knight is due to be released on DVD.In time for Christmas too lol.

I actually agree with this - I do feel slightly sorry for Christian Bale (although I do hope he wouldn't be "bitter" as you put it & I think he has actually been very gracious). If Heath hadn't died, all the press would be about what a great film this is and not about whether certain scenes should be left in it or not.

Unfortunately he did die & a lot of the press are using Heath's death to propel this film - something I'm sure it didn't need at all. What it is maybe doing, however, is getting more people to watch a film they may not potentially have watched? So maybe altho some of the reporting is skewed, it is doing something good. After all, in years to come, the film will still be there for people to enjoy and the reviews & newspapers will be long-recycled.

I consider myself a film fan & a Heath Ledger fan (altho I don't have a youtube shrine to Heath or River Phoenix;)). I can't wait to see DK because I am a film fan - roll on next week!

Oh, and nothing could've saved Batman & Robin apart from a different script?

No it isn't. I second that notion.

Believe it or not, but many of Ledger's fans are not the types of people I would personally want to know. They all bare the same traits of known mental disorders that many of these troubled extreme fanatics also possess, especially with dead celebrities. It's quite worrying, I mean just do a search on YouTube for River Phoenix or something to that effect, look at the user's profile and you will see what I mean.

They usually have nothing but a whole host of deceased celebrities (child, teen, adult) in their videos or favourites.

Most, or all would have died tragically.

I'm not a fan of the multiple villians trend. Just one strong villain to carry their own. I guess the problem is that some of the classic Batman villians don't work that well on screen. As much as I like the Penguin, what we got in Batman Returns was not the Penguin and they needed Max Schrech to bring a sense of menace into the film. But I don't see how they could have done it otherwise.

I also hope they keep up the very 'real' villians in the Nolan movies. I like the way that Ras Al Ghul's immortality was eluded to as part of trickery rather than him being really immortal. I'm liking the way they are handling Joker as a psychopath who simple wears make-up rather than being mutated by chemicals. I hope Two Face is handled in a similar way, with very real scars rather than comic book monster looks. I hope they don't resort to villians like Mr Freeze, Killer Croc, ManBat and all those because they don't fit in the real world of these films

I can't wait til christmas! That's a whole 24 days after the release date. Won't happen I'm afraid - I'll be buying it myself. *wonders who to scratch of xmas list to make way for buying self presents*:D

I must say TDK felt a bit anticlimactic, and a bit too long for me.

Heath Ledger is amazing, all the hype surrounding his performance IS justified, untimely death or not, I went from finding him hilarious to unsettlingly disturbing almost in a heartbeat at times, but one performance can't propell a whole film to brilliance, it can only lift it a notch above disappointing IMO.

The film's final 20 minutes felt the wrong way round to me, and too many of the main characters' plot resolutions were completely unsatisfying, I think I was supposed to be left hankering for a sequel, but I wasn't I'm afraid.

What I did like about it was, compared with so many other comic-book-based films, it's not a CGI-porn-fest, it's a proper dark action flick (Nolan really is a master of his craft), and the use of CGI is nice and organic looking when it is there.

TDK is far better than any of the three Spiderman films, certainly better than Ironman (but completely different, it's hard to directly compare the two), but I'm not sure that it comes close to topping Batman Begins, Hellboy or Sin City, my personal favourite comic book movies.

I would still give it 4/5, but that score's raised by about 1 by Ledger's Joker.

Given another viewing I may enjoy it more, especially as last night's screening was hotter and stickier than me being locked in a greenhouse for 12 hours with Pamela Anderson.

It seems like the rumours about Jake Gyllenhaal playing Harvey Dent maybe false as the latest rumours are linking Ryan Phillippe to the part of Harvey Dent in the sequel to Batman Begins!
Appartently in the sequel Dent teams with Batman to track down The Joker, who the Caped Crusader has developed a personal vendetta against!

I'm so sad I've managed to see it four times - haven't done this for years. I think I'm in the grip of an obsession:eek:
p.s. have to admit that it is mainly the joker that does it for me, but a great film nonetheless. Can't understand some of the negative stuff in British press. I've got a pretty low tolerance for violence and it really didn't bother me, I didn't see it as 'real':...maybe I'm getting more bloodthirsty in my old age:D

See, i would have thought he's have dropped Dent's name sometime during the Prestige promotions... nothin as yet though. Maybe the're having trouble pinning down the guy they want. Although looking at the alleged short list, you'd think any of them would love to get their teeth into a role like Dent/Two-Face...
