Batman Begins Sequel

Something isn't making sense regarding Katie Holmes.

She was contracted for a sequel (unlike Morgan Freeman), and intended on returning. Late last year she was telling people she was getting her figure back in time for shooting, and lost her pregnancy-gained weight.

Now her representative is saying she was offered the role, but they never got to the negotiating stage as it clashes with a Queen Latifah comedy she's filming (!?), while RAB says she was dropped because of the obvious (Cruise).

Surely she'd prefer The Dark Knight, with its exposure and highly regarded cast, over a cheap comedy :confused:

Wow. I really need to get to an IMAX to see this movie. I'm going to London for a weekend maybe next month. Maybe I should try and book some tickets now...
 
I have never accepted the title of 'love interest' given to Rachel. Bruce loved her, but was not in love with her (not like Vicki or Selina etc in the former movies or comics). I did think this was intentional, so that someone like Talia or Selina could appear in a sequel without complications, but then the end of BB (where they kissed) kinda messed things up. Was it a friendly kiss, or the sign of getting closer!?

The purpose of Rachel as a character was to inject Bruce with a moral side and reasoning. He was intending to kill Joe Chill, but she made him see sense.

I know it's not a spoiler, but I believe the Joker will kill Rachel, to make her values have a greater impact, and the Batman-Joker connection personal- like when B89 had the Joker responsable for his parent's deaths. This is why the character is essential to the movie
 
My local Vue cinema now has the date changed to the 24th but tickets aren't on sale yet. I've registered my details so I should get an email when they are available.

Annoyingly a lot of Vue cinemas are having a special screening on the 23rd but my local one isn't on the list. :(

By the way, I see someone has started an "official TDK" thread in this section. :rolleyes: We'll keep this topic alive for us old-skoolers! :cool:

Just seen it and my first reaction is WOW. What a great great film. One of the best film i have seen in years. Great acting from everybody in the film. I'm definitely going to see it again.:)
 
I always had an opinion that the Joker should be tall and intimidating. Williams just ain't this.

A Marilyn Manson type stature is what's needed, though I am not suggesting he should get the role, that is just the kind of look they need.
