It seems like Chris Nolan (director of Memento 2000) is developing a much deeper and darker Batman movie then Tim Burton. It seems to be concerntrating on Batman instead of just the cartoon villians. And the script seems to be getting the movie industry excited so lets hope this one will clear away the memory of Batman and Robin! .......*Lala shudders*

This movie looks great and i just can't wait to catch it.............Summer 2005 roll on :D !

yup, can't wait for this movie either! I've read the script which was leaked on a batman fan board and it's F***ing excellent. D.Goyer wrote an excellent script, as long as Nolan sticks to the script and does his directing magic Batman Begins will be a sure hit. You can also find a leaked picture of Batman in clear light http://www.superherohype.com/batman/index.php?id=1800 aswell as other pics at www.batmanbegins.com, imho suit looks 10x better than all the other films and looks like he can move in it aswell!

The Batmobile does look a bit strange though.......But I am sure this film will do well!

And from reading this article, it seems like Batman Begins will be more of a prequal then a sequal. Well okay its not a sequal but its deffinately going back to Batman s roots and covering all the unanswered questions Tim Burton glossed over in his films.

Heard its more gritty realisem then Gothic comic book opera.

Oh i just cant wait! :D

Heres an article which includes a few interviews with the actors and Goyer the writer and also the director. And they confirm, in terms of story this takes place ten years before the other Batman films. And sequals are planned but the villians previewed in the other films before will not return.

god i still cant believe we have to wait till next summer!!! its not fair!!!

i am so looking forward to this as i am a huge Batman film and i still remeber when i went to see the Tim Burton one which was wonderful!!!! i do really hope this one is as great as it looks and am glad its going back to the look of the dark side of Batman like Tim Burtons!!!!!

I agree. This movie is going to be everything the last four were not - a true character study of the dark knight. I've read the widely released first draft of the script and let me tell you, this thing is special. It's dark, gritty, the action scences in the final third are going to blow minRAB, and there is no sappy love intrest to bog the movie down. I was surprised at how much of a serious adult tone it has for a comic-book movie. It's also got a great twist at the end.

Though the article linked suggests this movie is connected to the first four batman movies, it isnt. This is a complete restart - neither a prequel or a sequel.

SPOILER BELOW

At the very end of the movie Gordon (Gary Oldman) tells Batman about a double-homicide, and how the mysterious culprit's threatening to poison the Gotham Resevoir . He hanRAB Batman a card found at the crime scene- a joker card. ( this isnt the twist by the way)

And i would like to warn people!

Please dont go into this movie thinking it'll be the same Batman movie as Tim Burtons because it is not!

This is an origin movie..........therefore it is going to tell how Batman came to being from the comic books...........And it will also reveal the REAL killer of Batmans parents.......Not the joker!

Spoiler bleow

Batman himself will not appear in costume inthe movie until right in the beginning of the second half.........But trust me this isnt the Hulk, there is plenty of action in the beginning.

That is something that confused me, in the first movie Batman thinks its the joker that killed his parents, and yet in the 3rd movie Batman forever he claims it was two-face that killed his parents!

It wont be as good as the tim burton classics...every good comic book movie neeRAB a good villian and this doesnt look like it will have one...catwoman flopped for the same reason...

WHAT!!!!!!!!!!

This movie has the scarecrow in it and Ra'al'gul.........The two best villains in the Batman comic books!

What are you talking about no good villians..........these villians are great!

And Catwoman failed not because it didnt have a good villian, but because the movie was simply piss shit!

*Yes Lala is prud that she is a girl and can at the same time appreciate Comic books*

:D

Can't wait for scarecrow........he is scary in the Comic books

i am so looking forward to this new Batman film!!! hopefully it will have a great story and having the scarecrow it should!!
Im sure it will equal the first Tim Burton one as that was a pure classic and did Batman justification but the Schumacher ones purly ruined the whole Batman world!!! first changing who Batgirl was bad idea!!! not making Baine a top villan was very wrong RABince in the comix books he was hte only one to full destroy Batman so that story would have made for one hell of a film but no they ruined that!!!

Two face was not show as killing Bruces parents in Batman 3!!! he was a lawyer who didnt become two face till after Batman had been around for a while!! two face happened becasue he got attacked with acid buy someone he was prosecuting a baddie who threw the acid in his face. they had also changed Harvey Dent from a black guy (Billy D Williams)to a white guy (Tommy Lee Jones)!!!

The scarecrow I'll grant you, he was always one of my favourites too.

I'm not so sure about Ra's Al Gul though lala, I was never a big fan but could be good for the tone of this movie if they play him right. I hope they leave his daughter out of it too. ...They should never have wasted Bane.

Thanks for the trailer and the links you lot. I haven't heard anything about this movie for a while. Looks like an excellent cast, should be a great movie.

Yeah Scarecrow was always my favourite..........scared the shit out of me lol.......His costume.......thats what i cant wait to see lol!
Shame he (Scarecrow) doesn't appear in the film in costume until later on in the film!

And another bit of infomation about the new Movie next year!

Not only, as i have said hundred times before, is it a restart of the whole franchise........Yes RESTART!

But the script and story is losely but closey based on Frank Millers excellent comic book 'Batman: Year One'! Infact it is very close to 'Batman year one' in terms of Batman and his beginning in the films script!

http://www.rambles.net/batman_year1.html

Also if you think Chris Nolan will continue with the style of Tim Burton.....You will be greatly mistaken. Yes it is true Chris Nolan will continue the dark, brooding theme because that is at the core of Batman. However the "dark-opera-tic" theme is out and to be replaced with a "realistic-noir......back street down town Chicago look".........Basically the look and feel of the film will go back to the feel and look of Year one.......Which is fantastic because that is what the Batman films was suppose to feel like.

Oh my.......I am now showing my dark secret of being a fan of comic books  ......I'm so not going to be cool anymore lol.........Ah f**k itwho cares lol. :p

That's more than I'd heard , good news.

Don't worry about it kiddo, I'm a self confessed comic book nut and easily the coolest kid on my street. ;)

This is the film that I am most looking forward to next year as a Batman fan. Everything that I have heard about Batman Begins so far has me looking forward to Summer next year.
Ra Al Ghul is one of my favourite villians of Batman but I was surprised to see no mention of his daugther Talia in this film. However this seems like this Batman film will be the most adaptation of the comic book yet. No rubbish that been in the previous films like changing the killers of Batman parents to the Joker, changing Batgirls identity or reducing Bane the villain who crippled Batman in the comics to a pathetic henchman. All these things anoy the majority of true fans!
Christian Bale is perfectly cast as Bruce Wayne/Batman (A welshman as Batman who would have believed it!) and the rest of the casting is perfect unlike the Fantastic Four who casting does seem a bit dodgy!
I think the comic book fans will love this film but it depenRAB on how the general public react to it!
