Due for release next summer, Batman Begins may not yet mean anything to cinemagoers, but the odds are that they will be seeing plenty of Christian Bale in the next few years: he has already signed up for two Batman sequels.

Batman Begins hits theaters on June 17, 2005. Following the press interview above, the presentation to the fans also included a brief clip of Christian Bale and director Chris Nolan who apologized for not being able to be there (see picture above). Stay tuned for more from Comic-Con!

I saw it tonight and I loved it! Definitely one of the best Batman movies I've ever seen. Better than the first? Well, the jury's still out. But if not, then it's definitely close and it certainly kicks the asses of all the sequels. I felt that the fans of the comic book were treated like we had intelligence, something that I greatly appreciated. Also, this may sound odd, but I felt a thrill while watching Batman Begins-something I had not felt for a long time. I called my sister (who has yet to see it) and said, "The franchise has been redeemed!"

Oh, and it didn't hurt that Christian Bale was amazingly  -worthy. Serious lusting going on now. ;)

So i just saw this movie yesterday and ithought it was the best Batman i had seen along with Batman Forver because the last one was a dissappointment so i cant wait for the sequel to this prequel:) Yea and Katie Holmes i dont really care if she is in the next one or not cause she kind of brought it on herself

I LOVE Equilibrium! Such a great movie, and he looked SO good in it. :thud:

Here's a link with a description of the Batman trailer.

And this site, http://www.iesb.net, claims that Christian will be at the Comic Con 2004 in San Diego. :look:

Batman Begins Chicago Filming & Costume Talk Source: mpstrex, maxwell Wednesday, March 10, 2004

ReelChicago.com reports that Batman Begins will be shooting in the city starting in July...

The city will be replete with A-list actors when the fifth in the "Batman" series films in Chicago starting in late July and running through August... Filming started last week in Iceland and then moves to London before coming here. Chicago production budget is unknown at this time.

Thanks to 'mpstrex' for the heads up on that! Meanwhile, scooper 'maxwell' sent in this bit about ths costume...

I'm a friend of someone who is working on the Batsuit. Most of the reports you've read about the suit recently seem pretty on the money. The cowl, cape, boots and gloves are al black while the body suit is a dark charcoal grey. The belt is bulky with compartments not like the one in the other movies, it's also a much duller yellow than the belts before.

The symbol doesn't have the yellow oval, it's really big, taking up a good part of the chest. It's a smoother material than the rest of the body suit and slightly raised.

The gloves aren't quite armoured but the boots look like they have greaves and the soles look like they're designed to give good traction.

The cowl isn't as restrictive as the one from the other movies was, the guy in the suit was able to turn his head. The cowl is sculpted and I'm not sure if the material would move with the actor's face.

The material looks kind of like leather, it definitely has a texture to it, it isn't smooth like rubber or plastic. Also there's seams on the costume, up and down the arms and legs and on the sides of the body. I don't know if they're supposed to be there as they don't really show up in the darker shots of the costume.

I've seen the film last night and have to say it was a major disappointment to me. There were too many characters and most of them were very badly developed. I didn't like what they did to Bruce Wayne's character - when exactly did he become a self-righteous a**hole? Rutger Hauer, Ken Watanabe and Morgan Freeman basically had nothing to plunge their teeth into and Katie Holmes was not at all believable as an ADA. Cillian Murphy turned in an excellent performance as Crane/The Scarecrow but the character was underused. There were far too many explosions and fights, which is not what Batman is basically about. I much preferred Burton's Batman films and Schumacher's, while ridiculously over-the-top, were at least entertaining. Oh and the last scene between Rachel and Bruce looked like a complete rip-off of the last scene between Mary-Jane and Peter in Spider-Man IMO.

Fantastic movie! The best film I've seen this year thus far!

Christian Bale put Micheal Keaton to shame! He is the best Batman ever! I agree, he totally carried the film. He's a brilliant actor. Katie Holmes's character was really dull and sort of irrelevant. I'm happy she isn't going to be in the sequel either.

I want to see it again! I'd pay the money. It's that good!

i must be the only person who embraced ledger as joker wholeheartedly from the start...

i thought it was awesome. I liked how this movie focused a lot of Bruce's character and how he becomes batman, which was something i thought the other batman movies sort of lacked.
the only minor thing that bugged me, which doesnt have anything to do with the movie specifically, was that my showing didnt have the Serenity trailer tagged to it. i was sad.. =(

but other than that everything was awesome

Bale had already pretty much been confirmed as Batman for a total of three Batman movies before this first one was even done filming, but Caine and Freeman were just now confirmed for a sequel. :)

When I saw the first picture of the batmodle, before I saw the "fake" logo my stomach felt so sick

. I wouldn't drive that car if they pad me

. I hope they just redesign the original batmoble from the first movie.

Two New Batman Begins Ads: Batman Begins is still over two months away, but Warner Bros. is making sure that everyone and their mother knows that it's coming. With that in mind, what could be the summer's most anticipated movie next to Star Wars: Episode 3 has been given an unprecedented ten week lead-time for the first television ads. Last week, two short teaser spots appeared on various cable stations, but now, there are two more 30-second spots that show a lot more stuff from the movie, including some of the new Bat-gadgets, a quick glimpse of the Scarecrow's firebreathing horse (!), and quite a bit of Christian Bale both as Bruce Wayne and Batman. You can see all of the teasers, trailers and TV spots so far here...
