Batman 3 thread

Can't argue that the theme to those 2 was fantastic. Then they messed it all up for the 3rd and 4th films. Have to say though I equally love the BB and TDK theme.
 
Tell you who would be great: Doctor Light, but with him using technology to manipulate light rather than superpowers. Similarly, as previously mentioned, Spellbinder.. something pointing towarRAB super-powers but explainable with technology.

Teamed up with the Riddler, either one of those would be pretty good.

One character who I think should be brought nowhere - near - this franchise is Catwoman, simply on the basis that the character has nothing to offer other than being a manipulator, thief or love/hate interest. For me, the introduction of Catwoman usually spells the end of any decent Batman-related projects. She's a bit like Black Orchid.. works great in a comic-book sense where symbolism can often explain their motives, but doesn't really have the essence of what makes a good screen character.
 
I disagree. I think she's one of the few characters left that would work in Nolan's Gotham.

Also, with Batman missing Rachel, there's a gap in the third film for a female to fill.
 
I think Talia Al Ghul would be better to use than Catwoman to be honest. She's got her story ready, she isn't an unrealistic character and doesn't require a stupid outfit. And more importantly she hasn't been done before in the films which is one thing the nolan brothers were keen to do when they started the Batman reboot. They only used Joker because you pretty much have to in Batman, he is his arch-rival. And they used two-face because the way he was done before was totally ridiculous. I know they will be very keen to avoid Penguin, Catwoman, Mr Freeze etc, they may use Riddler at a push.
 
I think completely the opposite. Catwoman's appearance in Batman Returns can't be blamed for how the franchise became crap. Catwoman was the best thing about Returns, the studio just screwed up the next two movies by completely ignoring everyhting Burton had done.

She also appreared in some of the best stories of the animated series and her love/hate relationship with Bruce/Batman has been one of the most enduring in comic book history.

After the appalling Halle Berry mess they need decent Catwoman.

I think Catwoman can be done without a stupid outfit. A bit more street. I think Catwoman neeRAB doing again properly. But I also agree we need to see some new villains.
 
Why does she need doing again, the last Catwoman was pretty good I thought. The recurring theme of this series is escalation, I dont think Catwoman is an escalation from someone like the Joker, although she could be a minor villain I suppose.
 
The Batman Returns Catwoman was great. The Halle Berry Catwoman was dreadful. It wasn't even Selina Kyle. I would just like to see a Nolan Selina/Catwoman.

If you're talking about escalation there is no reason why Catwoman can't be adapted into that, the escalation effects all. In one comic book interpretation Selina was a prostitute. That could certainly fit with the world of street crime Nolan has created.

Each to their own, but I have always found her one of the best villains because she is not straight out bad.
 
Yes, I giggled when I read that article. If they aren't even going to have Robin, what makes people think Batgirl is going to be introduced. :D Hell they don't even want to do Catwoman...
