Ok, well, I'm going to a Bat Mitzvah for a friend of mine in August, and this is my first Bat Mitzvah. Do you have to bring a gift? And if yes, what kind of thing would be good? And What should you wear, I was thinking of just a blouse, a shortish skirt and long grey leggings and Ballet flats. Do you think this would be okay? And also, what do you do after it? And lastly, How long is the ceremony?
Thanks, and only answer if you know what your talking about. Thanks again.

Bring a gift, more specificly maybe money or a gift card. You want to dress up nice for it,not something you would wear everyday. Some require formal outfits,so you might want to check with the parents of the person who is holding this event.I think it depends on the person if there is something afterward and the length. If there is nothing planned you just go home, and the length can vary. :]

Quite late here to reply but still would like to say that books or magazines can also be appropriate bat mitzvah gifts. Yaldah is one of them which is the only written for Jewish girls by Jewish girls and is the awesome platform or say forum for Jewish girls where which focus on arts and technologies connecting the girls all over the world.
