basic html problem! please help!?

I'm trying to teach myself html, and I've written some code in Notepad, but now I dont know how to view as a webpage! please help!

go to file>save as and then type "something.html"
make sure it is "all files" and not text. then you just open that "something.html" and it should open in a web browser.

do file save as and in the name add .html to the end of it this will covert the file into a html file.
and then just double click on the file and it will open via your browser.
