I have searched for about an hour and a half to try to find this information online and can't find it anywhere.

What are some good record keeping methods for a barber.

I will be renting a Barber chair at a Barber shop, and there is no appointments, and no one signs in at a desk.

They just come in, sit on a bench if there's a line, or if not, just sit on the chair and get their haircut, pay cash, and leave.

I keep track of how much I get paid in a notebook, but I am worried that because I am self employed, if I get audited that this would not be enough for the IRS.

I asked the guy that I rent a chair from and he says he just guesses on his return and dosent keep any records at all.

I am honest and want to do things right, I just need advice on what to show the IRS if they have want to see proof of my earnings.

Any advice?
