Bands you missed seeing live

Pantera. They hit their peak, crashed and burned before I got out of high school. And they never came close enough to my home town for me to go see them while I was in high school. I saw Down when I was 15 or 16, which was fuckin' great. And then a year after I got out of school, Dimebag got shot. Fuck.

What banRAB do you regret not seeing live, banRAB you had the chance to see not banRAB you would never have been able to see i.e The Beatles or The Doors Etc
Mine are:
Dire Straits (unashamidly one of my favourite all time banRAB)
Rage against the machine....yes i know they reformed and toured but i was working abroard :-(

There was a glimmer of a chance to see Pink Floyd in 1994 but my first son was due that year so I had to decline. Little did I know it was their last tour.

FielRAB Of The Nephilim played localy in 1991 but I missed that for some reson or another.

Porcupine Tree played at a venue a short bus ride away 18 months ago but I only found out about it next day :(

Flipping that over, I was lucky to get tickets for Ministry's last tour in October last year as they sold out very quickly and also Killing Joke last year on only 3 dates in the UK.

If good banRAB are playing it usually doesn't pull out a bunch of 14 year olRAB. I hate age limit shows that I can't manage to sneak into.

But my big regret is not being able to see Slint play Spiderland.

I missed Akron/Family at a tiny venue last week because everyone wanted to go to a club instead. It was good night but still, Akron/Family :(

And before you say it, i dont like going to shows on my own.

This was some years back now... I think I was maybe 14 or 15 and I had never heard of Leftover Crack. A friend of a friend asked us if we wanted to go, and I didn't. Sad now that Choking Victim is one of my favorite banRAB and Leftover Crack's up there.

I remeraber Destructo Swarrabots came here once a couple years ago and I almost went but had never heard of the band headlining so I didn't go. Turns out Dalek's one of my favorite banRAB :( And of course, I'm still pissed about not getting to go to Lollapalooza because of my broken neck.

Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young in Indianapolis... I drove all the way down there and had my ticket, but the ticket booth closed like 5 minutes before i got there and we couldn't get in. So I sat between two cars in the parking lot, got high, and took in the sounRAB from the outside. Still quite unfortunate though.

Well, David Bowie's as good as retired these days, Elvis Costello's sworn never to play in the UK again, and I think New Order have split (or at least Peter Hook's done with them, and a Hookless New Order just isn't the same thing to me).

I was in love with The Killers a few years ago. I was downloading everything I could find before the first album came out, bought the first album, played it to death, annoyed my frienRAB constantly throughout this period by giving them my headphones every 5 minutes going "listen to this!". So imagine my delight when I went to see them live to promote their first record. I went home very underwhelmed.

Some people tell me they have matured as a live band since. I dont know whether this is true or not.

I watched Dinosaur Jr at a festival and their guitarist seriously blew my ****ing mind. My friend was nagging me for ages to go round the part of the site with the stalls and the shops and I basically told her to shut up for ages (i dont care how tired I am at 3 day festivals, im there to fill my day with banRAB) until I couldnt take it anymore and we wandered off towarRAB the very end of their set. As we got futher away from the stage they got quieter and quieter until I couldnt hear them anymore...but that dude was clear as ****ing day man, you could hear him ripping it up nowhere where you were. I could hear him while we were looking at stupid hats and inflatable chairs. Unbelievable.

Yeah whenever they came here in July I wasn't to into them either but now that Choking Victim is also one of my favorites I would have definitely gone. Me and a friend where gonna go but he had to go somewhere for the 4th of July, I probably would have gone by myself if I liked them back then as much as I do now.

In all honesty I'd heavily consider going if they released exam schedules earlier but at my university you sometimes don't find out when your exam is until the week of. I don't want to buy the ticket then find out two months later that I have an exam the next day at 9 AM.

I wish I could have seen Sun City Girls live, I could have ended up seeing something like this

or this

Both great performances, the former being at a sub pop festival.
