Bands you hate that everyone else loves

sometimes they tried to do a bit too much and it really didn't work for them. they weren't supremely accomplished musicians, so where they excelled best tended to be their more flavorful pop songs. in that respect they were great songwriters.

European Son is absolute garbage though.

Yeah, NEVER.

I mean you can really tell how careless their compositions were. Maybe they would have been a decent band if they actually put some effort into their songwriting. And their late 60s stuff was especially over commercialized pap. Never took any risks.

John and Paul were so lazy and uncreative.

Hey, I play an Epiphone LP, too. I was just curious what guitar it was, it wasn't said as ad homen arguement against you as a person. Hey, if that offended you, it wasn't meant to.

But to be honest, I thought you were made of money the way you talk about music.

fixed.

I can understand if you don't like how the media treated The Beatles, or don't like their music, - but saying "the beatles were never about the music" piqued my curiosity of what they were truely up to, is it a grand conspiracy theory? what are the details? what were The Beatles about if not music?

that guitar is either an Epiphone? or a Gibson???

Don't sweat the small the small stuff, whenever someone says something I don't like in a forum, I just think there is about 6.5 billion people in the world, and 99.99 % don't even know, don't care what's being said. How important is what's talking about: Rock n Roll, Electric Blues, Prog Rock, The Beatles to the rest of the world?
I do think it is important to have a proper perspective of Rock n Roll and it's history. It does matter to me, but not enough to get aggravated over, yeah I get mad at some things, but sometimes we got to let things go.

It's not a bandwagon thing for me. I've said it before on this forum, their music just bores me to death.
Another thing is that I worked in an a British pub (an American British pub) that played them 24/7. The outcome of my stay of employment there is that I ended up hating The Beatles and started liking Soccer (football, sorry).
The Beatles are like having annoying rich uncle that payed your way through college. Sure you wouldn't be where you are today without him, but you still cringe when he shows up at the family reunion and everyone starts kissing his ass.

That's funny because I completely concur on this one... I've liked a few Shins songs from time to time but always thought of their music as pleasant without being terribly desireable...

A few years ago everyone was creaming their pants about them though...

Boo Boo, if you're going to discredit blues and early rock n' roll as influences on modern music, then we should discredit the Beatles as well based on the fact that the banRAB you say they influenced must have influenced the next generation.

EDIT: regardless I posted here talking about how I hated the Beatles, which is the point of this thread. Randomly attacking that for posting an opinion seems pretty ****ty to me. Also on the matter of influence, it's undeniable that the Rolling Stones had a far greater influence on the shape of modern rock music.

I only liked metalcore for a short period in 2003 when i first heard Poison The Well and Killswitch Engage, but it got REALLY boring really quickly.
