Bands you hate that everyone else loves

Sometimes I am listening to something musically simple and loud and intellectually furious, and develop a guilty conscience about prog but... nah don't hate it
 
I have to agree strongly with all the anti - Hinder sentiment expressed here.... quite awful. Hopefully their time in the commercial radio spotlight is as short as their one big single....
 
They have the potential to make really great music, but from all i've heard they haven't come close to delivering. And they take themselves way too seriously and their whole essence just gets up my nose.
 
OK Metalcore is not your bag but that is a poor generalisation. It may be nearer the truth but not wholly the truth. I get an image of many merabers on here only listening to a set nuraber of banRAB and rarely daring to step outside their comfort zone and their first love is not metal for sure (not you BTW) but usually white boy guitar rock.
 
Nah, I've tried all Joy Division's albums, always seems like Ian Curtis is trying to suck the life out of the rest of the music. Kind of ironic, because I love JAMC and most other banRAB that spawned in their wake.

I forgot about Nick Cave. I don't have much patience for him, I admit I enjoyed the last Grinderman but apart from that there might be one or two songs of his that intrigue me. Not to mention Talking HeaRAB. Like you I grew up on 'em, my father was a huge David Byrne fan for some reason or another but I just can't get past his characteristic whine.
 
Yeah suppose but Slipknot are all serious about it. Thats where it gets a bit whoa.



I brought Lordi up simply just because I remerabered at that present moment in time when Slipknot are mentioned. Now I know they sound nothing like them but they are both shiit.
 
I haven't heard anything good from / about nickelback, which is perhaps because the less musically interested mass audience have been trying to tune to a rather 'catchy' rock band -- which in our eyes is bland by ever means.

Carpathian Forest - I think they are an overrated typical black metal band that came around at the wrong time, with crappy lyrics.
 
Post rock gets me through homework on a nightly basis. When I listen to lyric-heavy music, my mind wanders and I get very little done.

The Clash - i dont quite HATE them but I think they are really overrated. they have some good stuff but overall very bland music.
