Bands you hate that everyone else loves

Screw you, I have the giant hogweeRAB.

They are invincible, and immune to all your herbicidal battering.

I don't think there's any doubt that both of these banRAB suck; Nickelback have an outstanding reputation of being horrible. Conversely, I actually think that they've become the metaphorical punching bag for people to beat up on every time they talk about horrible music that's out there dominating radio frequencies.

Personally, I think they just came at the wrong time -- when post-grunge had already exhausted itself as anything remotely interesting. They're no worse than the slew of shite PG banRAB that came before: Local H, Marcy Playground, Silverchair, etc.

Too Mirrior: Mushroom Head is a band that Slipknot is a knock-off of. They are incredibly and udderly worthless and overrated. Also, thanks I like the list also.

I'm much the same way. I like reading about banRAB and artists and if they appeal to me, then I give them a shot, even if I don't immediately like their sound. For this reason, most of the "new" music I discover is older stuff, albums that have already garnered critical acclaim for decades. When I listen to those albums, I know they are widely regarded as good and even if I don't immediately get them, I think it's exciting if/when I start to discover just why they are considered brilliant. I also listen to a lot of prog and prog albums tend to be growers, so I think maybe that can make you a more patient listener. You get used to having to play an album often quite a few times before it opens up to you.

Some of the biggest dolts out there I think are the people who need to define themselves and their taste in music by what they hate rather than what they like. Sometimes, all that does is showcase how close-minded and ignorant they are.

I mean The Beatles cared SO much about making money that they stopped touring, which is how most artists rake in the dough, so they could make recorRAB that were a complete departure from the work that made them popular in the first place and couldn't be emulated through live performance.

Of course they only cared about the money.

Korn arent that bad, Ive heard a couple of their albums that were no more than alright to be fair: 'Korn' (1994) & 'Life Is Peachy' (1996).
I also recentley heard a song on a music channel which i liked 'Coming Undone' which is from a 2005 album called 'See You On The Other Side'.

SOAD I never originally liked but came to appreciate them later on, yeah I get what your saying though. I dont really listen to them anymore though.

Finally, Rolling Stones suck balls! They have no good albums!
To me a band of their stature having no good albums is a disgrace!
Fair enough they had some moderately listenable hits dotted about the place (the last one being around 82 or something- 'Start Me Up') but they mostly bore the arse off me in general.

'Mirrior'? Really? I thought it would have been the other way about. I dont know what it is but I just cant take Slipknot seriously. There is another band that comes to mind (wears daft masks etc) called 'Lordi', I remeraber seeing them on a music channel ages ago and they were incredibly shiit.
+ Im glad you liked the list, if only we knew who the op was. ;)

I've never really seen much in Cream either.

I wouldn't say I flat-out hate them, but I've never really been a fan of Queen or Led Zep. I do like a few songs from both of them, but can't exactly see myself getting their albums anytime soon.

Oh, and I hate Wilco and Neutral Milk Hotel too.

Mushroomhead, Slipknot, and Lordi all sound drastically different from each other. Saying one ripped off another is absolutely absurd.
