Bands you hate that everyone else loves

I agree about Cream. John Mayalls Bluesbreakers were a thousand times better. As for Stone Roses I am probably one of the only few to have that view (and almost certainly out of the British contingent).

While we are at it Neutral Milk Hotel are awful and with the exception of a couple of songs Rolling Stones suck too...oh and The Who!
 
Yes I should have, but she had a weak mind, so I easily was able to convince her to get into my music. ;) At least the more poppy music I listen to anyway.
 
it seems a lot of people that LOVE the Beatles (i don't mean casual fans, i mean the crazy ones) haven't heard anything else that's similar to them. the people that usually cite the Beatles as "the best band ever" probably haven't heard anything by The Pretty Things, 13th Floor Elevators, The Monks, Moby Grape, Love, etc.

it's insanely infuriating to try and have a thoughtful conversation about the Beatles with someone who thinks that Ringo Starr is a competent songwriter.
 
I do not like The Beatles, I wouldn't go so far and say that I hate them, but I do not have any of their songs on my computer and I am going to keep it that way. While I understand and appreciate what they did for pop music, their music just never appealed to me and I tried really hard to get into them but just could not force myself to like them.


And to Lucifer_sam Texas is actually a pretty alright state I gotta say. Did a road trip from Nevada to Texas then back and besides Witchita in Kansas, Texas was my second favourite place. Everyone I met there was really nice and it's somewhere I wouldn't mind going back to.
 
People actually listen to Insane Clown Posse??? Nobody i know listens to them over here, in fact i doubt anyone listens to them over here at all.
I used to go out with a girl who was obsessed with a lot of really sh!t banRAB like Linkin Park, Slipknot and Nickelback. She hadn't even heard of most of the banRAB i listen to.
 
Yes, the reason people who like banRAB of the same era with quite a similar sound don't like the beatles is because they'd rather be listening to the musically competent banRAB. Y'know those that consistently made good, interesting and listenable music.
 
It doesn't automatically make a band good or bad though.

I doubt most KISS fans consider them brilliant lyricists, that's not why they like them.

For the record, I generally can't stand KISS. But I doubt that would change even if their lyrics were Bob Dylan quality.

Hardcore fanboys are annoying no matter what band it is.

I admit, I sometimes take my Yes fanboism to pretty irritating extremes for some people.
 
still not as infuriating as my friend's setup...he spent all his money on recording equipment, sound system and a drum machine. so he's stuck with a piece of **** Casio, Yamaha acoustic and Mexican fat Strat (it's ugly as sin). all in all he probably put over $2000 into his setup and a fraction of that on instruments and just uses production techniques to accomplish everything he does.

he does have a sweet Fender Jazz bass but he's unwilling to use it most of the time.
