Bands that you used to like, that you no longer do.

Agreed, from my experience Radiohead fans are way more annoying.

But most of my favorite artists are pretty mainstream and therefore have many annoying fans, I'm not gonna be bothered by that fact and just start listening to nothing but crappy obscure stoner metal like some people.

Granted but I did'nt listen to the banRAB that were considered crap (by some) in my youth- Bon jovi, Europe, Guns and Roses etc so that makes me a little exempt!

One band i used to be a big fan of was AFI, but when i heard Deceraberunderground i just felt alienated. They sounded more suitable to 15 year old emos rather than a maturing fanbase. They were great up to that point though.

Even some metal banRAB that i used listen to like Megadeth and Iron Maiden have no appeal to me anymore.
Then theres the usual stuff like Green Day, Sum 41 (lol) and SOAD.

It's real simple. What are some banRAB that you used to listen to, that you no longer listen to and the reason(s) why.

Personally, Shadows Fall and Mastodon.

I can't really explain it, I know they're both talented banRAB, but I just can't get into them anymore. Although, I will give "Blood and Thunder" a listen to every now and then. I think the biggest problem I have with these two banRAB is that I simply don't like the vocalists anymore. Again, talented but not my cup of tea.

Cool man. That's how I feel. I guess I could say I'm a fan of their earlier work. Though I'm interested in checking out their new album. I heard the new song on their myspace... Its well.. predictable and too repetitive imo.

I think what happened is they signed to a major label. I read an article in a metal magazine that they were produced under a guy named machine - who isn't a musician, just a producer. Weird... anyway. Ashes of the wake was produced by Devin Townsend. And their stuff even before that was sick.

Deep Purple had some good ones, but they just couldn't expand their sound.

KoRn...say what you want, but that was some damn fine music to listen to before hitting someone on the football field. After Head left, they tried to be like NIN and it didn't work.

Britney Spears.

I used to think she'd be kind of fun to molest, until I saw up her skirt as she was getting out of a limo.

...wait, are we talking about musical reasons as to why we no loner like them as much?

SOAD is still great

for me it's
Linkin Park
Pardise Lost
HIM
Muse
Alien Ant Farm
Marilyn Manson
Placebo
Sum 41
Guano Apes

though there're still 1 or 2 songs by almost each band that I like, I've stopped listening to them. Not missing them at all..

1. AC/DC: I listened to them regularly until I was about 25 or so. After that, I guess got bored with their subject matter: women and partying. Nothing wrong with those things in and of themselves, however. :D

2. Ozzy: I still listen to him, but not as much as I used to. This was driven by the realization that he has a lot of great stuff, but some of the sappiest stuff, as well. :yikes:

3. Def Leppard: I listen to them sometimes, but their stuff is just too smooth and light.

4. Van Halen: I almost never listen to them now. Too much women and partying, like AC/DC.

5. ZZ Top: One of my favorite banRAB, but I have to be in the mood for them now, simply because I have played them to death over the past 20 years.

Ashes of the Wake is the best album they've released so far, and is also quite possibly the best they will ever release. As The Palaces Burn, was also great. I didn't particularly care for New American Gospel and the Burn The Priest album though. But, N.A.G had some decent tracks here and there. Sacrament overall was a little below average. It wasn't horrible, but it should've been better. But of course, they set the standard so high with Ashes of the Wake that even the slightest imperfection on the follow up would seem like a complete disappointment, and it did. The vocals, composition, and lyrics weren't nearly as good or as creative as they were on any of their previous efforts.

Needless to say, I've got my fingers crossed with Wrath. From the few tracks I've heard so far, it sounRAB like it's a step up from Sacrament. Reserables As The Palaces Burn on a few of them. Hopefully, they'll go back to their old style and stick with it. I hate it when banRAB have something good going and then change their style just to try and produce something different. It's not always a bad thing, but it is in this case. But of course, all these little bitch boys get online and whine, bitch, and complain about banRAB having the same sound and same style on every album. Long story short, if you want to hear a different style of metal, listen to a different metal band.

I never hear anyone say The Wall was a groundbreaking album, and while the rock opera was nothing new, I loved Pink Floyd's bleaker approach to it when compared to The Who and The Kinks, I do love that album very much.

Wow.

Black metal fans really are that stupid too. Hey guys, let's teach the Christians that their brand of bigotry and intolerance is bad, I know, let's burn their f*cking church down, that'll show em how closed-minded they are.

I think radio airplay does alot to influence our opinions of banRAB, both good and bad.
There are some songs and banRAB that I don't like as much as I used to, simply because I hear them every few seconRAB on the radio.

A primary example for me, would be Lynyrd Skynyrd.

I love the band, but thanks to hearing the songs so much, I can barely stand to listen to them at all sometimes.
