Bands that Plagarize

^that's because Robbie Krieger was a classically trained flamenco guitarist who was playing a very slightly twisted version of La Catedral (a traditional classical guitar piece) as the intro to Spanish Caravan. they're not similar, they're the same piece. ;) hardly plagiarism in this case.
 
There's a song by the Argentine band Enanitos Verdes also has a similar melody and is older than the Satriani song. I don't think anyone actually stole it from anyone else, it's just one of those melodies that's easy to come up with. Satriani is an idiot for suing over it (and he lost by the way).

it's not plagirism because they admitted to it, and identified that it was written by someone else. it's actually very common for modern (well 1950's and up) to use classical pieces within their songs, two songs i know that use the melody from ode to joy:

The Killers - "Mr. Brightside"

people don't really call it plagirism when it's an identifiable riff from a classical song, people usually consider more as a little tribute to the original composer.
