John Lennon was known to lift a bit from a song now & then.

The riff for "I Feel Fine" is from the Bobby Parker tune "Watch Your Step".

"Come Together" borrowed a line from Chuck Berry's "You Can't Catch Me".

The riff from "Revolution" is from Pee Wee Crayton's "Do Unto Others", sorry can't find a sample on the internet.

There's a clever little steal

Oasis are the biggest plagarists of all, but it's a bin dun to slate them for it.

I've just found out the bit in u2's A beautiful day is a rip off both musically and lyrically of Aha's The sun always shines on tv.

Jeez! I knew about the first two but I'd never heard of that Revolution rip off before. It's on spotify and i was shocked the instant it came on. It's identical.
Some other lennon ones are
I want you (ssh) is a rip off of the riff in this -YouTube - Mel Torme - Comin Home Baby

The piano riff from Hey Bulldog is strikingly similar to the one from Money (that's what I want)
This song by Can is uncannily similar to How? on Imagine-YouTube - Can - Deadlock
He's also pulled off the stunt of ripping off Three blind mice for All you need is love AND Instant karma

After The Jayhawks opened some shows for Tom Petty the riff from "Waiting For The Sun" showed up as "Mary Jane's Last Dance".

The Replacements also opened shows for Tom Petty and the phrase "a rebel without a clue" from "I'll Be You" turned up in Petty's "Into The Great Wide Open".

If you're a band from Minneapolis don't open for Tom Petty, he'll plagiarize you.:yikes:

Does anyone else hear this:

Or is it just me?

John Lydon reckoned that U2 ripped off the P.I.L song 4 enclosed walls on their song Bullet the blue sky. I think i can hear some vague reserablence and u2 have form!

Interesting additional part of this: "Waiting For The Sun" was released on Rick Rubin's label Def American and Rubin also produced "Mary Jane's Last Dance".
