Bandanas in the military?

Im considering joining, does the military actually allow bandanas, or is that just movie mumbo jumbo?
Thanks to the one person so far who has provided and adequate response, to those who seem to think im joking and asking a ridiculous question you can get the f*ck out i dont have time to read statements made by people who obviously don't understand how to answer a question.
 
Not by themselves, no. Only authorized military headgear is allowed for use in uniform. I do know some people who wear bandannas over their head while wearing a helmet to keep their heads from chaffing when wearing a helmet that doesn't fit quite right.
 
We call them go-rags, and it is a unit-level command decision on their wear. Most of the time, in hot or dusty conditions, they are authorized.
