Bambi Meets Godzilla - 1969

I think part of the film's appeal is its' utter simplicity; the title would suggest an actual team-up or crossover of some kind with an actual story, but it's just a minute and a half of credits over a serene scene, then deer gets stomped by giant lizard, The End.

I saw a similar film on MTV's Liquid Television entitled Elvis Meets the Spider People from Hell, by Mario Lajoe. Again, the title would lead you to believe that it's going to be some some sort of sci-fi/horror epic, but it's not. All that happens is: Elvis and the Spider People meet, introduce themselves to one another and the Spider People depart. The simplicity is what makes it so wacky.
 
I realize that it must have seemed really funny in the pre-internet era, when absurd humor like that usually didn't appear in mainstream media, but these days, it just comes of as a pretty average Newgrounds-style short...
