Bakup Drivers backrest

Has anyone had any experience with these? Looking for something to support my back on longer rides. I like the seat and do not really want to buy one with a backrest. Had the wife ride behind me and cant even reach her to use as pillow!!!
website is backupbackrest.com

Mine is a grasshopper brand, and the only problem is that if you are short and swing your leg up and over the seat (over the pillion seat), its in the way, step through mounting does not work for me.

consider carefully the rigidity of the mounting style. I dont know 'backup' but I do know grasshopper....and grasshopper steel is soft enough that it bends away from you after a while = no support.

I finally bought a Utopia which has a very strong steel bar and mounts close.... no bending at all!j

I've got a Grasshopper and am not too impressed with it, and I only have a few miles with it. It's not horrible, but I would have been ornery if I'd a spent more on it. I don't know - maybe I was expecting too much...

I have one from Custom World International and love it. I can adjust it front to back and up and down. Took about a month to get it adjusted just right. Would I buy it again? In a New York minute. With that said not sure if they make them for the 109. Hope this helps.

I've been using my Grasshopper backrest for almost three years now with great satisfaction. I only weigh 140 lbs. so I'm not putting a lot of pressure on the backrest like someone might do if they weighed a lot more. The only modification I did to the backrest was to put a wrap of black duct tape around the metal support so that it would fit more tightly in the slide-in bracket. I always keep the backrest on the bike, so I wasn't concerned with having to slide the backrest in and out of the bracket.

Have the Bakup for the driver and love it. Some other models pushed the boys too far forward on the seat, but the Bakup keeps you at the normal position. Will never ride without one again, well worth the $$

I, too, have the grasshopper driver's backrest and love it. Just returned from a 1,009 mile trip to Sturgis. Sure glad I had the backrest. I'm 5'10" and can easily swing my leg over it. My wife has no problem getting onto the passenger seat, either. I don't lean into it all the time, just when my back seems to get tired.
