Baking & Pastry Arts training?

My future daughter-in-law wants to learn Baking & Pastry Arts. She does not have the money for a college program. Anyone have any other suggestions where she can get the training she needs? She wants to open her own shop, so the degree she obtains doesn't have to impress anyone other than herself....thanks!
