i just bought an ambassaduer 5000d bait cast reel at a garage sale. It was a little dirty on the outside and scratched up a little but really smooth. I tried to go fishing with it but my lure only went about 3 feet. I am fishing for trout about 12 inches long. I know that this type of reel is mainly for bass fishing. But i am wondering if it will help if i take it apart and clean it?
