Badly Planned Military Strategies in WW1?

The schliefen plan wasn't on the face of it a bad plan and it came very close to succeeding. It was only when german commanders moved troops away from the Main thrust to support what had originally been classed as diversionary attacks that the plan fell apart. So simply put it was never implemented as envisaged.

Arguably the German Spring offensive of 1918 was a badly planned campaign, it creamed the best troops away from the majority of german formations, leaving them a shell, the initial staggering german successes ending up turning to a german rout. Leaving the german army in a position where they couldn't maintain their lines.

The Somme Offensive- Forced into acting by the French, General Haig launches an attack just off the river somme. Shoddy munitions and inexperienced troops means the battle turns into a bloodbath stalemate.

The Spring Offensive- Germany's last throw of the dice to win the war before the Americans arrived on the frontlines. With reinforcements from the eastern front, they smash through the allied lines. However, instead of heading north towards the channel ports, they decide to advance deep into strategically unimportant French countryside. The British and French simply allowed the Germans to out run their supply lines before counter attacking at the River Marne. From that moment onwards the Germans were on the backfoot.

First Suez Offensive- The Ottoman Empire's attempt to capture the Suez canal, beleiving the Arabs in Egypt would revolt against the British. Not only is there little interest for such a revolt, but the Turks are unable to take the canal and are mown down by British machine gun emplacements on the opposite bank. The British counter attack and during the next three years capture the entire Ottoman middle east, including the holy city of Jerusalem.
