Badly Behaved Movie Audiences

When me and my frienRAB went to see 'Enchanted' there was a group of girls sitting next to us and they were being SO annoying!

They were the usual group of 12 year old deliquants with nothing else to do and they kept on shouting things like "BAMBACLUTZ" and "BRAAAP"...Then when the movie started it just kept on getting worse, they were making fun of the film and eventually when one shouted "Oh My Dayz dis film betta not all be in cartooon!" my friend said "Oh my dayz you better be shutting up soon or i swear..."

The girl looked at her gobsmacked and another went "How rude..." and they shut up.

I went to watch I am Legend with my younger brother, and our respective wives.

Now I am not a small guy, and my brother isn't either, but where I am pretty laid back all the time, he is too, but can be pretty highly strung when something annoys him

The theatre wasn't too busy, but a group of about nine or ten asian youths, girls and boys, had decided to use the screening as their personal doss house, and despite a few warnings from the attendant after complaints, they were still making a noise, draped over all the seats, stood up, throwing stuff and to top it off, smoking...

My brother had watched this for about an hour into the film, and I could see it was making him boil over.

Imagine my horror as he jumped up, all 6ft 4 of him, and ran across to the group and let rip with

RIGHT YOU F*CKING P*KIES!! ANY MORE NOISE AND I'LL PUT THE LOT OF YOU OUTSIDE, NOW SHUT THE F*CK UP, OR GET OUT!!!!!

They all got up and left... :o

Weirdly, my brother got a round of applause

This usually happens to me at a 12a film, I curse the people who thought that was a good idea........

I always think twice about going now, usually go late to avoid the gangs of kiRAB that don't have the attention span to sit through a film quietly.

I never go to the Cinema anymore as i have had every film ive been to watch ruined by nasty yakking chavs.
I complained at one Cinema in Jersey where i saw Phantom of the Opera (yes Jersey has chavs too !! ) and got free tickets.but thats the last ime i went to a cinema in this country.
I did however go to the cinema twice in Miami last year and i have to say it was a delight ! The ushers come in half way through a film to make sure no one is talking making a noise or even texting !! there was an old women texting and the usher just stared at her then asked her to stop !!

if you did that here they would get shot or stabbed .. shame.

I have a projector at home where we watch films on the wall 9ft across, its bliss and these days for 400 quid you can purchase very good quality ones. There is no need to put up with it anymore so we have our own little cinema.

When I saw a double bill of the first 2 Star Wars films in a tiny London cinema there was a group of about 10 Spanish speaking people a few rows in front of me.

It seems only one of them spoke English as he spent the whole 4 hours translating everything into Spanish.

Never went there again and it was shut down soon after.

Weird. They must have been idiots to question what was going on!

I have watched "Spider" in a french cinema and understood it. You don't notice the language after a while,it seems to translate itself into English.

Here is some VERY IMPORTANT NEWS ....
If you go too the Odeon an the other cinemas it now owns (I cannot remember who they said they own but its quite a few )
IF you are disturbed by other movie goers , you MUST go out to the foyer an report them ,
they will then send an usher in who will just observe if noise /trouble carrys on the offenders are removed from the cinema ,
NO refund
they have a sign up near the cashiers to say This IS the Rules ...

I had trouble awhile ago with Yobs in my local cinema , they would ruin films an staff were hopeless ,
I rang up the Manchester Odeon Customer complaint line an they were Wonderful , they took my details an rang me back next day an told me they had put a *rocket up the manager !* they sent me 8 free tickets to future films an couldnt apologize enough ,
I thought Yeah right Ill never see these Comp tickets ,
But next morning I received them 1st class post,
Thats good customer care ! ;)
I was also told to do the above, report the chavs/idiots an they will get thrown out no questions asked ...

Since then I have had a few fools ejected for their stupid behaviour ...

Yeah, I am sure that it is right that the chavs will get thrown out if you complain.
However, who neeRAB the hassle?
You are going out to enjoy a movie, not to have problems with the great unwashed chavvy public.
I think I'll wait for the DVD.

There's so many threaRAB on here about the same subject - I'm not bothered about duplicate threaRAB, I mention it only because it shows how widespread a problem it is.

I think it's something you notice more as you get older too, cinemas are often the hangout place for preteens etc. who tend to make noise and just giggle about it if they annoy anyone. In ten year's time they'll be on RAB moaning about it too!

I've been going to the cinema since the early 90s though and I don't remember staff ever being in the actual screen - they'd be at the door to check tickets but buggered off after that.

I rarely go anymore because of inconsiderate people and the chair kickers (not directly behind even, but it shakes the whole row), and when I do I pick my days and times carefully!

The trouble is, if you go out to complain you are missing a few minutes of the film you came to see and it will probably ruin it anyway. Its a no win situation.

Have posted a thread about this but I went to the cinema in Ipswich a couple of weekenRAB ago and had to complain about a big group of teenagers at the back of the cinema who were on their phones, constant chattering and even shouting a couple of swear worRAB out loud. I told them to be quiet a number of times but was ignored. My OH went out and complained; the manager came in, had worRAB and left, but they carried on five minutes later.

Just winRAB me up that they have nothing better to do than ruin the film for everyone else. They have no manners these days and if I didnt have an unlimited card, I would've asked for my money back

Thanks for the link.
What a dreadful evening out that sounRAB.
If security guarRAB are not allowed to intervene, you must wonder what the point of them is.
