bad tranni on a 1990 ford f-150?

when I'm in drive going about 20 miles an hour my tranni jerks I can hear the linkage go clank it only does it till i go 50 miles or faster.Then when I slow down it does it again.When I drive in the second drive witch is one space down on the shifter it doesn't do it as bad but I can't get over drive.
It doesn't have a push button for over drive its just neutral then drive then to the right another drive thats the one I drive in

if you have the push button to disengage the over drive, that pump may be bad in the transmission. pretty major repair there, they're famous for that problem.
