BAD pain in left of back, not muscular... kidney?

Hello, I have had, for the last 4 hours a REALLY Bad pain in the left of my back, above stomach height, below breast height......had kidney stone 11 years ago on the right. Hurts that bad, but seems higher.

What might this be? Anyone? If I didn't have a different doc's appt. tommorrow, I'd go to the ER right now, but I know I'll be in the general area of the ER around 1:00 PM tommorrow. Its 12:40 AM now.... Its seems like just a little spot, I KNOW I did not pull anything, Also I am on Inderal for my heart, and have had lots of aches & pains & extremely tired. Called primary but he told me to drink lots of water. Lot of help he was.... ANYONE????

If it is kidney pain, drinking water can actually help some. Not a fix, of course, but if it might help, it's definitely worth a try. Given what you've desctibed (and your history) I am tempted to think that's what it is...

....that being said, if the pain is that uncomfortable and you are really concerned, the ER is an option you may want to keep open. Remember that if you become dizzy, short of breath or have any chest pressure with this to treat it seriously (as cardiac symptoms vary between men and women).
