I don't know what is going on with me because I thought my infection was getting better but I have been having burning and stinging in my abdomen area all day and very painful. The area around my incision is really hard and red. Some of the knots are smaller then last week but then there are some new ones. I go to the doctor on Thursday so I guess we will see what he has to say. I had a terrible time sleeping last night because I would lay in one position for a length of time and then the pain was so bad but I couldn't move. I still need to get me the satin sheets and PJ's before my next surgery. I get a really sharp pain in my right lower back and hip when I put weight on my right foot. We are having such strange weather here- 40 miles north of us there was snow and sleet and then last night we had severe thunderstorms with lightning and thundering all night and several inches of rain and now freezing rain tonight so I am sure this weather isn't helping at all. Well, enough of my ranting and I hope everyone has a good day and hopefully pain free.

Hugs
Linda

oh Linda i hate to hear that your haveing so many problems I do hope things goet alot better for you. And come rant or rave or vent alll you want.

Kyma, i'm sorry your having a tough time with an infection and having all that pain. Plus not being able to sleep makes things worse. Thankfully your appt. is right around the corner. I hope he can offer insight or maybe something that will help more with the infection, as you know you dont want it to get worse. I'll keep you in my thoughts!

Wow, Linda, that doesn't sound good. If it's any worse today, you might want to call the doctor and not wait another day. The longer an infection goes, the greater the chance it can get into your blooRABtream and become very serious.

Hope you finally got some sleep.

~Emily

It sounRAB like you are having a rough time. I am so sorry and pray that you feel better soon.

I agree with everyone if you are having drainage at all please pick up the phone and call the doctors office. Better to see him sooner than later.

Take care of yourself.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I ended up having a bad day today and was throwing up this morning so I tried to rest today. I did put a call into my regular GP to see if they had my lab results back from Saturday but they never called me back. I have my appt. this afternoon at 1:30 p.m. with the neurosurgeon so hopefully I will find out more. The incision doesn't look worse today but it has been stinging so bad all day. I can be doing nothing which is what I am suppose to be doing and it just starts stinging like a bunch of bee stings. Last year when I had this with my surgery on my neck they told me I had a hematoma.

I hope everyone has a Happy Valentine's Day and hopefully a pain free day, also.

Hugs to Everyone
Linda

Yes, I totally agree with Emily. You must be so careful with an infection. Don't mess around with it even for half a day if it is looking worse.

I just had surgery 5 weeks ago and want to confirm that the satin sheets are really fabulous. I personally don't think you also need the silk pjs. It is almost overkill. Plus I didn't feel I would be warm enough in silk pjs. I prefer to recover in that lightweight fleece that is really soft and warm as well. I ended up taking the top satin sheet off the bed as I felt it was too slippery...I would think that satin sheets and pjs would almost be too much. You might slide right out of the bed.;)

Please call your doc if that infection looks worse. Don't wait!!
