Bad images in my head?

Captain S is right. If you must think about them at all, the Druids forbade the writing down of their lore because they said it could lead to people forgetting it. So put it on paper and change it and forget about it. Writing and drawing can have that purgative effect. Destroy the "evidence" of course, but write and draw it just to get it out of you.
