Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone can help me as I am sooo scared and do not know what to do. I have had gerd before. Last flare up was back in Deceraber. I have always taken nexium or prilosec and it has helped helped with symptoms usually right away. Anyway, a few days ago, I started having the chest pain (like food stuck in throat) and sore throat. One night it got so bad I went to the hospital and they gave me reglan and it helped alot. My symptoms dissapeared. I went out the next night and had a few drinks and smoked (stupid I know) but the next day symptoms were back-BAD! I got on my usual prilosec prescription meRAB and it's been 3 days now and the symptoms are still bad. I can't see my Dr. because I am away and can't get back home until next week. Doesn't prilosec usually work with 3 days? I am on both reglan and prilosec and I swear the symptoms seem to be getting worse! The constant pain in my chest and difficulty swallowing is driving me crazy! How long on the these meRAB before I can expect relief. I'm scared maybe it is cancer now since in the past I have responded fairly quickly to these meRAB and it was never this bad. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
