Bad Albums by Good Bands

Manipulator by The Fall Of Troy

ever since they've gained popularity, their albums have been going downhill.

the fall of troy > doppelganger > manipulator

Primal Scream - Echo Dek
Worst remix album ever

The Fall - Cerebral Caustic
Only one good song on it & Mark E Smith isn't even singing it

Manic Street Preachers - This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours
This is sh*t , are you seriously telling me this is the best you've got?

Beck - Midnite Vultures
Sh*tty 80s pop should be left there

Jane's Addiction - Strays
If they'd released this crap in 1991 they would have died with all the other hair metal

Black Sabbath - Technical Ecstasy
A band desperately running out of steam + Tony Iommi's desire to be taken seriously = this crap

Thin Lizzy - Renegade
Horrible 80s synth pop

Suede - A New Morning
Suede had been stinking the place out since Bernard Butler quit the band. But at least they had the odd decent single. This rubbish was the final nail in the coffin ... thank god.

The Cult - Beyond Good & Evil
Another crappy comeback album that tarnishes all the great memories you have of a band.

Rolling Stones - Live Licks
Probably the most sterile live album I have ever heard

Pink Floyd - Atom Heart Mother
Pink Floyd try to make a psychadelia album without Syd Barrett

The Clash - Cut The Crap
I own about 30 Clash albums , this isn't one of them

David Bowie - Hours
I could have gone for some of the more obvious ones like Tonight or Never Let Me Down , but this was hailed as his best album since Scary Monsters. I can handle Bowie being bad , What I can't deal with is Bowie being boring & thats what this album is ...pure boredom.

Never understood the hate for this.It may not be as good as some of their other stuff but it's nowhere near bad.
If anything I rate Bossanova lower.

Yeah, it's a bit...eh. Title track and "If" are pretty cool though.

Good calls on Technical Ecstacy and Strays.

I guess one obvious answer would be the posthumous 2Pac/Biggie albums. I guess they're not all bad, but Christ...that "Duets" one...

Midnite Vultures, no wai.

I can't think of any albums right now, but I don't think the Life Pursuit by Belle and Sebastian is very good and they are a great band.

I think I'll have to go for Foo Fighters here. I was a big fan right up until In Your Honor. They'd never been a particularly adventurous band but this was the big turning point in my eyes... this was the beginning of that middle-of-the-road sound that they've stuck with. I'm not saying that they weren't radio-friendly to begin with because their music has always been accessible but there's something missing these days.
