Bad Acceleration on 06 Pontiac Grand Prix?

My car is a V6 that has 59,000 miles on it and its been giving me the blues. When on the highway it has beentaking awhile for my car to speed up to around 60 & the rpm's are above the 3 almost close to 4 and this is not usual for my car. I'm wondering what the cause is. I have no other problems with the car
