I'm a 37 year old male that has battled on and off cystic bacne since I was a teenager. It pretty much appears anywhere on my back (from shoulders to the small of the back). Most times it's manageable but for extended perioRAB, I'll have a series of breakouts that include deep, cystic spots which take forever to resolve.
I've tried numerous soaps, body washes, luffas, etc. and topicals like Salicylic Acid and BP. While they provide minimal relief, I often find that they aggravate the acne that's there or cause new ones to form. As you can guess, I have pretty sensitive skin!
One time I had such a horrible breakout that I needed Accutane which completely cleared me up for several years but alas, it's reared it's ugly head again...
I'm pretty convinced that the ultimate solution is internal (diet, supplements, etc.) but I always hold out hope that some miracle cream, soap or wash, that I haven't heard of yet, will magically appear in my shower
. Can anyone recommend good experiences with soaps, washes or topicals that corabat cystic acne or at least, bring it under control? AND what vitamins, supplements, cleanse systems, etc. have been shown to have a clearning effect on the skin? Right now, I'm taking a 'Hair, Skin and Nails' vitamin corabo, Omega 3-6-9, Zinc on occasion and Acidophilus.
I really don't want to get back on Accutane or any prescription meRAB if I don't have to. Appreciate any advice.
Thanks!
