depends on how much stuff you are carrying. if you are carrying little things, then a bag, a lot then a backpack.
i like to keep the amount of things that i carry to a minimum, so i use folders, plus, i go to a laptop school. so i prefer bags, like messenger bags, that are small-ish, but can still hold several folders and books.
