...to MY car! Help?!:(? Yesterday, I was in a mall parking lot and there was this huge jeep parked behind me who was in my blind spot. So, I accidentally backed out on it. My friend and I in the car got scared as it was just 2 weeks after I got my license..:/ I drove my car about 15 feet away from it and stopped the car and put the emergency blinkers on. I got out and walked about 3-4 feet from the back of my car and from what I can tell there was no damage to the other car. The reason I didn't get a close inspection was because I was too scared and panicked at the time (..I really regret not fully checking it now..)..I know..stupid excuse but seriously..I was already almost in tears at this point.

I was still extremely worried after I checked the car really quick and I concluded there wasn't damage that I didn't even check if there was any damage on MY car as I was so worried about the other person's car. I wasn't sure whether to leave a note of any kind as I was scared enough as it is.. So, I did a stupid thing and just drove off as bad as I felt inside. The drive home was the scariest drive ever as I was worried the security cameras saw or if there were any witnesses (I was so preoccupied with what happened I didn't check if anyone was around..but I don't think so..) Now, I am just scared as hell right now since I'm not sure what's gonna happen. The only damage done I think was that my right tail light was busted. The light itself wasn't broken but just the covering..or shield I don't know what it's called. So yess..I'm not quite sure what to do now as I really feel like going back to the scene of where it happened but the person is probably long gone and I really feel bad about it and I want to leave a note of some kind or discuss with them what happened but it's too late now. I just wish I wasn't such a scaredy-cat about this yesterday night..

You guys got any advice or anything about what I should do or..anything? :( I'm still worried sick about this incident.. and I thought yesterday was a good day too since I found someone's debit card in the ATM machine and returned it to the security (No, I didn't take any money out since that's just not right.) and I felt pretty good about myself..until this accident happened..>_<; Help?!

File a police report.
Do not report it to insurance unless required to do so in your state.
In all states, you are required to report this to the police.
Bumper damage is minimal, the lights can be purchased at any automotive store and are easily replaced by a non-mechanic.
