Just finished watching this in 1080P thanks to download and I have to say its so much better picture PQ than the one on ITV HD.

You notice so much more things on this in the detail and it sucks its not on blu ray yet.

Any way what do you think of the 3 films?

If you have any questions post them here if you don't get a part in the move.

Also what are your best parts from the three films and whats your order from best to worst.

The Blurays are supposed to be prepped and ready for release - the only question is when.

I'm resisting watching them again on dvd but I can only wait so long before I give in.

At one time I preferred Part 2 but Part 1 is now my fave with part 2 runner up but undoubtedly the most entertaining trilogy of films ever made.

I love Indiana Jones too but the BTTF series is so good from start to finish
 
I always watch the three films as one. Make sure I have a whole evening to spare and watch the whole lot in one sitting. But if I had to choose one as the best it would be part two. I like it's dark vibes. But what a trilogy. A stonewall classic.
 
You've got to see the original to appreciate Part 2.

In fact the more you see Part 1, the more you will see just how Part 2 is so ingenious.
 
Just bought myself the steel boxset. Haven't got a bluray player and have no plans to buy one just yet, so not sure I am caring for bluray just yet. Besides, I liked the films when they came out originally, bluray won't make me enjoy them anymore or anyless.

I would rate 1 as my fave, with 3 next and 2 last.

1 because it set the template perfectly for the others and was just so different and unique to any other time travel film that had been done up to that point.

2 was very ambitious, but a little too complex and overlong to be a true classic...but it was clever, frantic and had some great ideas.

3 for me is certainly the funniest of the trilogy, which is what I love about it, plus the 'low-tech' aspect to it was refreshing. It really had a lot of fun sending up the Western genre, looked very authentic and even had some real grizzled old-time wester actors like Harry Carey Jr, Dub Taylor and Bill McKinney.

But I think the great unsung hero of this film, and possibly the others too, is Thom (Thomas F) Wilson as Biff, and all of the various incarnations of the character. Buford 'Mad Dog' Tannen is probably my favorite character, and he really threw himself into it.

But it was a great shame that Wilson seemed to fade into obscurity after those movies. He now plays the stand up comedy circuit, and very good he is too.

I love these films. I can watch them again and again and they're still as fresh and fun as on the first viewing. They are up there among the ultimate "feel good" classics.

I got to meet Christopher Llloyd at a signing event last summer. He thanked me for coming and shook my hand. It was a real honour. I've met dozens of actors but this was one of the few times I was genuinely star struck. I've met various other cast members too and they have all been really lovely.
 
Part 1 and 2 are great, part 3 is kinda boring IMO.

Also, I think these HD channels just upscale the video, and it's not true HD (if it is, it will either be 720p or 1080i, not 1080p)
 
Recorded the first movie from BBC1 on it's UK tv premiere xmas day 1988 if I'm not mistaken. Watched it way too much for the next 11 months until Part 2 came out in November 1989. I remember not knowing that Part 3 was going to be out as soon as the following summer , so the coming soon trailer at the end was utterly awesome to see as a 12 year old:)
I remember the novelisation of pt 3 being released in the UK about a fortnight before the movie was out! Myself and a few buddies started to read it but made a pact not to go all the way to the end before we saw it on the first day.
I truly loved all 3 movies growing up , they are pretty much cinematic perfection in my eyes , especially in terms of story and performances by all involved. I remember going to Disneyworld Florida with my folks in the early 1990's and pestering for them to but me the "OUTTATIME" number plate which I still have to this day.
Never been fortunate enough to meet any of the cast but have followed their careers. It's so sad that Michael J Fox has Parkinsons Disease but he's been shown to be so brave in how he's lived with the disease. A true life hero to match his Marty McFly. His own illness resonates with me further as my Grandfather suffered and succumbed to PD and it taught me things I couldn't get to grips with about my Gramps illness as a child , like how difficult it makes it for people to communicate.
 
I watched part 3 yesterday on ITV and i'd forgotten just how good these films are.

I am now going to try and watch them all in one go sometime as i have never watched them all in a close time.
 
Upscaled programmes are not listed as HD.

ITV HD only broadcasts when they have some genuine HD to air.

If you can't spot the difference between genuine HD and upscaled sd then maybe Bluray is not for you.

The earlier post said they had downloaded the HD version so it could be 1080p.

It's only digital tv that sticks to 1080i
