Back To The Future blu ray trilogy.

Picked up and early import copy of this a few days back, have worked my way through most of it, bar the 3rd film itself.

I guess the main question is what does it look and sound like.

Mmmm...have to say it did not blow me away. Pic is good, better than previous releases...but I would not say it is reference quality.

And I had to crank the volume up quite a way to get it to sound the way I wanted it, not something I would normally expect to do with a DTS track. That said, it's good sound, good seperation, though not as much use of the rears and wubwoofer as I would have expected.

There are new retrospective docs on each disc, and they are pretty good. The footage of Eric Stoltz is fairly brief and has no dialogue, but it's interesting nevertheless.

Michael J Fox is also interviewed, and though he obviously has some tics and looks a little rough (cannot be easy shaving with his unfortunate condition, I guess), his speech sounRAB fine and he comes across as enthusiastic and reverential of the movies, and his memory of the events is certainly still very clear.

All of the previous extras from the 2005 box set DVD release are present, and overall there is a staggering amount of material to wade through.

One minus point is the packaging - though it looks good, the plastic 'mechanism' that holRAB the disc in place is infuriatingly difficult to open...I was afraid I would scratch the discs in frustration trying to get them in and out!

Pretty much mirrors the bluray.com review. Saw the first at the cinema this afternoon and I did thoroughly enjoy it, looking forward to seeing then on blu, especially part 2 but I may wait for the price to drop a bit following the reviews.
