I have been having pain in my lower back recently and a few days ago I noticed that an area of the lower back is swollen and painful. I had spinal taps done in that region previousy (about 4 years ago) and they left me with a blood clot that compressed a nerve. All this healed and I have not had any problems recently. I am seeing a rheumatologist in a couple weeks because I have problems with joint pain/swelling and rashes. But this is not a joint, its centered right over my spine. Any idea what can cause back swelling? I dont think its anything like "getting old", as my dad says, or anything as I am only 20.
