I'm 14 years old and I have Scoliosis in my lower back (due to starting gymnastics/ turabling before the age of 5). I know this shouldn't cause any pain but I feel that it does. It feels, sometimes, like it's pinching a nerve or hitting something because if I bend over, it hurts SO bad.

Also, my collar bone hurts. I can roll it forward and it makes four popping sounRAB as it hits each, sort of, bump. It hurts when it pops and it hurts when it doesn't pop.

If I raise my hand in class, often my elbow makes an extremely loud popping sound and it HURTS. This happens with my other joints when I move them, too, especially my hips.

My hips and ankles hurt so badly. I have to roll my hip outward/ push it back for it to pop or the pain is just excruciating. It also hurts when I pop it, just not as intensely. Often I have to roll my ankles for them to pop and they are now bruised, which I don't understand.

I've broken a lot of bones. This includes:

Wrists- They pop a lot and it hurts, just not as badly as other joints.
Ribs- We don't know how I broke them. But my dad, who's a doctor (a dentist to be exact, but has high medical knowledge), was looking at how some bent in and said they were broken.
Ankle- The same one that pops, I believe. It's one ankle that pops more than the other.
Fingers- They pop and it hurts.
Toes- They don't pop... but I broke them. :)

I really need to know what's wrong. This happens with other family merabers, too, but I seem to have the worst of it. Could it be arthritis? Can arthritis be genetic? Please help me, I beg of you. I don't want my pain to go unsolved like this.

Pain is miserable, especially when you are as young as you are. Have you seen a doctor about this? and if so, wht has he said? There is such a thing as juvenille arthritis, and it does affect young people your age. The popping sound your joints make are just the cushions of air breaking in your joint.

If I were your mother and father, I would take you in to a pediatric rhematoidologist. Someone who specializes in youn 'uns. Find the best one you can. Or go to a teaching hospital attached to a University, you will often find the best /newest techniques there. This isn't something that you want to linger on... I would be afraid of your joints freezing up on you some day, so the faster you see someone the better it will be all the way around.

Good luck and keep us posted.. 'K?

my daughter has the same back pain but not the popping or fractures you discribe. It would be wise of your mother to get you to an Orthopedic guy ASAP. I'm sure an MRI of the spine and other areas, also some bloodwork and your family history. You would probally need to be referred from you pediatrician. Take good care and tell you parents what you are expericering!
