I am assuming you mean nerve sciatic or stabbing like pains from your back hips or legs?

IF so, you can try getting a mattress topper at any store I have one that is memory foam and i also have a mattress pad that is very cushy underneath that.

It could be a pinched nerve somewhere for how you're sleeping.

I did the same thing as rose, we bought a memory foam bed topper, the 1 1/2 inch size. They worked wonders in not just our back pain but my hip pain too. The thickness varies from 1 1/2 inches, then 2, and 3 inches. We got ours at Target, then queen size was $80, the king in the 3 inch size I believe was $169, but considering how much mattresses cost it is a deal. With our 12 year old mattress getting saggy with dips was adding to our pain, but we can't afford a new one, so this was a perfect option. With all my pain, back, lupus and fibro problems I've had a hard time sleeping, but this has given me the best sleep I've had in a long time. Like she said almost any store that has sleep stuff will have these toppers; well worth the cost

Question for you ladies - I'm in the market for a memory foam topper and will likely be purchasing one this weekend. Do you put the topper ON TOP of the fitted sheet...or does it go underneath it (I'm assuming you'd have to buy deep-pocket sheets in order for it to fit, right?) All the pictures I have seen of them, simply show the topper sitting on top of the bed with nothing covering it...so I've always wondered if that's how they're supposed to be used or if you're supposed to put the fitted sheet over them. Also...I've heard that they can be "hot"...is this true? It probably wouldn't be an issue in the colder months, but in the summer...I can see where it might be a problem. Thanks for any feedback you can provide!

You put the topper under your fitted sheet, it also comes with a cover to help keep it clean longer. I can't say how they are in the summer yet since I've only had it a week (-: but I keep a fan on me in the summer or a window open so the cool night air comes in. I live in the Seattle area so our hot days are not as long as most places. If it's too warm then all you might need to cover you is the top sheet. Hot or not it's worth the better sleep at night. I hope I've helped you.
