Monique,
It sounRAB like you have definitely injured your back which I am sure you already know since you are experiencing pain.
You ask us what our diagnosis is and I would like to remind you that we are simply patients like you who suffer from a wide range of spinal problems. Some are more complex than others and for a true diagnosis you really need to see your medical team for their opinion. They will determine if your condition warrants further testing.
In the meantime while waiting for your appt, you might consider:
1. alternating 20 minutes with ice then with heat. They say ice is generally better for inflammation and injuries in the beginning but many spinneys use heat. Do not use heat more than 20 minutes at a time, because heating paRAB are known to cause many burn injuries.
2. try taking an anti-inflammatory to reduce swelling or use something like bengay to rub on the offending area.
3. Also getting into a spa/hot tub if you have access to one and just sit letting the heat pentrate the offending area.
4. Do not lift anything heavier than a gallon of milk (8 lbs.).
5. Do not bend/twist. Use proper back procedures/posture which you can research online.
6. Wear flat shoes with no heel
7. Listen to your body and let pain be your guide. If the pain is severe, seek immediate medical attention. If you have pain doing something STOP.
8. Try not to sit for more than 20 minutes without getting up and walking.
9. Lastly, look up back log roll online and be extremely careful getting out of bed. This can cause alot of stress on your back from twisting.
Good luck and I pray these tips help a little.
