I have had similar issues and understand your stress! But it is not the adjustments causing the pain, the pain was there before and sometimes it gets temporarily worse before it can get better. Usually osteopaths are fairly gentle in their manipulations. I have some pretty nasty back issues, one of which is I regularly have ribs and vertebre that will pop out or twist in place. The pain afterward is usually due to the surrounding muscles and tendons readjusting to their correct position. Your Doc should have provided you with a series of exercises or stretches to do to help get the muscles to release. Make sure you do them every time and that will help some, also try hot compresses and anti-inflammatories.
