back pain after extensive walking

I am 61 years old, semiretired. I recently got a security job to supplement my income. At this point, I felt totally healthy.

I was introduced to continuous walking and after 4 hours had to depart because of feet hurting and lower back aching terrifically.

I am 6'3
 
The first thing to consider is the shoes and inserts you have in your shoes. Feet problems can manifest in back pain. Now that I've had back problems I'm very careful about the shoes I wear and I went to a footwear store that made some custom inserts I can use in any shoes (my podiatrist sent me there since my insurance did not cover inserts).
 
wow,4 hours is alot of walking,they so you only need 30 minutes a day try not to over do it,but it sounRAB like your on your on the right track.i hope you feel better,have a very merry christmas, marywoo
