Hi back buddies!!

Havent been around for a few months unfortunately it hasnt been because my back is better but my computer has been down.

I notice there is alot of new names which isnt good news as it seems to imply there are evern more people in pain.

Just a quick update on whats occuring!

Well i had a choice of having a 3 level fusion or living with the pain. I didnt want surgery so i decided to try and cope with the pain.

ITS BEEN HELL!!

The doctor is at a loose end as to what to give me for pain relief and i am trying to hold down a new job which i am having to do in agony.

I just want something to help me while i work but unfortunately 'opiaRAB' dont work for me which are the strongest pain relievers.

Going to see my consultant in 2 weeks to see if he can suggest anything.
When i went 6 months ago he referred me onto a 'Pain management course' which has got a years waiting list!!!

Not sure where to go next.

Thanks for listening and i hope everyone is having a relatively pain free day!:)

A years waiting list for a PM ? WoW thats just nuts . I hope you find relief before then .. Thats a long wait.. Are you sure surgery wouldn't be the best idea ? mean suffering and pain meRAB not helping ?? Whats next ?

Good luck

Hi Sherry1
I am in England too, I am just trying some pain management at the moment and yes the waiting lists are terrible sometimes if you are willing to travel you can get onto shorter waiting lists. I have changed my dr twice as I wasn't getting any joy and he has been great I now have appointments for facet shots and I have a course of 4 accupuncture to try, also I am going to see a neurosurgeon in Hull but have yet to get the appointment through. I have had two laminectomies but unfortunatley mine have not worked. the first one was more successful but scar tissue forms and causes problems I had L5 S1 but two discs have now deteriated and I have possibles discs at C4level getting worse. I do suggest you keep pestering your GP etc it seems to be the only way to get any thing done. I hate complaining and I hate to bother the Drs but when your at the end of your tether in pain it has to be done. You are still quite fresh from your surgery and it can take a long while to heal inside. Take it steady dont over do things and listen to your body. I wish you all he very best for a good recovery.

Hi Sarah

Yes my doc did put me on the strongerst of the Buprenophine patches but they did nothing for me.

All i am looking for is someone in the 'know' just to give me abit of guidance on what might help!

Is this too much to ask?

Hi Shawley

Well i must admit i have been wondering about surgery but with the odRAB against me i am still not sure.

I really dont want to spend the next 40 odd years regretting having had it and be more incapacitated than i am now.

I know everything has a risk factor but its a big step!!
