...including a huge number? of engineers; precisely the people they needed because this was at the same time that foreign cars were really starting to chip away at their market share, the very same year they gave 130 million dollars in bonuses to upper management, now they want a bail out with tax payer money, should we tell them to go take a leap?, or maybe they should try and get the 130 million back. Between this and the likes of AIG with their luxury trips are you fed up with the corporate mind set in this country and think these guys should be given the boot and prevented from ever running a company again?

*WE* are not going to tell them anything.

Barack Obama and Congress led by Nancy P~P have been

begging George W. Bush jr to approve another 50 Million dollar

*rescue* plan..Your arguement is moot as it is totally out of the hands

of the American people..Unless George W. Bush jr. vetoes this

it is (almost) a done dea..Yes,, I concur with this buyout as I worked

30+ years for Ford Motor Company and I also concur with the

AIG bail out..The politicians are doing the right thing..this time..

Pay me now or pay me later..but you will pay ME

The big three were coming around to profitability when this financial crisis hit. Because many people can't get loans, they couldn't purchase cars.

Probably we all know someone who works for a product that is linked to the auto industry. I already have a friend who lost his mechanic's job when a local dealership closed last month. When parts on our cars break or wear out, we need to be able to replace them for a reasonable price.

I have windshield wipers on my Japanese car and replacing it with a American made part is cheaper. When we had a VW Vanagan, every time we replaced the headlamps it was over $120 and yet if we had been able to buy a garden variety headlamp, it would have been much less (I think it was $20) at the time.

There are car parts manufacturers and stores as well who would be impacted. That would affect all of us.

let them squirm. if it's that big of a deal, it will do them good to suffer for a while.

No we should not help them. They could defend the financial companies by saying they needed to provide us with loans etc. But the auto industry? No way.
